Sports Senior Pictures

Sports can be a very important part of a high school seniors life. Today we photographed a young man from Olathe South who loves baseball. We also interviewed with a Blue Valley High School senior who plays/lives softball. And photographed below is a former high school senior from Olathe South who won a scholarship playing tennis. High school seniors are busy people. And their senior pictures should reflect that.

On that day that the picture below (on the left side) was taken it was cold and very, very rainy. We went ahead with the senior photo session. A couple days later the weather was beautiful. So I went out to the tennis courts at Olathe South and took a picture. A few hours later the photos were merged and looked good. At least in my opinion!

Senior Pictures In Olathe: Still Not Too Late, But Hurry!

Sorry I haven’t posted much this week. Been extremely busy helping students from Olathe North, Olathe Northwest and Olathe South get their senior pictures done in time for graduation announcements and just fun memories. (Where are all the Gardner-Edgerton kids?) I thought I’d bring you a few of the samples over the next week or two here.

The young man pictured below is a gold gloves boxer. We actually took a few of his senior portraits here in our studios and then went to a boxing ring for the rest of his senior picture session. Pretty cool. I guess some pretty famous boxers have been in the same ring because of the Ringside boxing guru here in town. Alas, I digress. The point is we got to make some pretty cool photographic images that will last a lifetime!

Senior Pictures Turned Artwork In Kansas City

Senior pictures have options here in Kansas City. Take the accompanied senior picture, for instance. Is this really what he and his mom thought they would find in their collection to choose from when they came in? Probably not. But we here at SeniorPhotosKC like to do new and daring things.

This piece of artwork was created from an original photo by a Digital Artist that we hire on a contract basis here at Portraits Today Studios. I would love to tell you that I created this. But it wouldn’t be true. Who is the artist? Well, I won’t give his name without his permission. But he is a sophomore over at Olathe Northwest High School.

The fun of working with high school seniors is turning their senior photo collection towards their personalities. When talking to and working with high school seniors I get to know a little about them. What makes them tick? How do they see themselves? How do their parents see them?

After the conversations and the photo shoot I take what I’ve learned and turn it towards post-production where we make some pretty cool senior picture collections for our Kansas City area residents. After all, if you could simply get your friends to use their Canon Rebels to take your photos to save money, you might do so. But then you’d miss out on some of the cool things we can do for you.

Keep a look-out for more cool portraits to come from this senior session. We also did some pretty cool things with a grunge background and some of the best composite portraits I have ever put together.

Olathe North Senior Pictures

Look for more senior pictures of this young man to be featured here in the upcoming weeks. He attends an Olathe high school. He and his mom were looking for some casual senior pictures to express who he is. They specifically did not want to do the traditional suit & tie photo. We hope he will enjoy these for years to come.

Break Away From The Ordinary!

I know. I know. Your mom wants a formal senior picture. And since she’s probably paying the bill, we’re gonna do those. But I’ll bet she’d love to see your personality in a set of senior photos, also.

This young lady is an assistant at a local gym for kids. She’s fun. She’s a little impulsive. And she wanted something a little different. This photos symbolizes all of that. Breaking away from the ordinary. Busting out from her black and white world. Ready for her next step in life.

Your senior portraits session doesn’ t have to be more of the same. Just like everyone else’s. Some will want to stay with the traditional. That’s fine. We do those, too. Some want to play a little. Lucky for those, we do that, too!

Senior Picture For Class of 2009

I don’t know about you, but I love this senior picture. The young lady in the photograph is an Olathe South High School Senior for the class of 2009. Like many high school students she has an extra-curricular activity that she really enjoys. Specifically, she’s a tennis player.

So why not bring out the tennis player in her during her photo session? I love taking outdoor photos for senior portraits as much as the next photographer. But when I’ve spent the money I have on studio space and equipment I think we should use it when it’s appropriate. And this senior portrait was worth the trouble.

There is a hint of tennis without being overboard. Her eyes draw you in. Her uniform flashes her school colors while the racket tells you all you need to know. Right there on archival photo paper for the rest of time…
